One of the best things about bone broth is that it’s a fool proof way to make everything taste better. Take for example soup, in three simple steps, and less than ten minutes, you can have a delicious, nutrient dense meal.
As a general rule, follow these steps…
01 Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil, butter or ghee.
Omit this step if pressed for time and/or there is no onion or garlic in the pantry ;)
02 Add chosen ingredients from list 2 and cover with bone broth. Simmer till soft.
03 Serve as is or blend for a creamy soup.
Our favourite combinations:
Pumpkin/Ginger/Chilli: Add ginger in step 01. Pumpkin and chilli flakes in step 02. Blend.
Broccoli/Zucchini: Add veggies at step 02. Blend if you like!
Cauliflower/Leek: Add veggies at step 02. Blend if you like!
Mushroom/Thyme: Add veggies at step 02. Blend if you like!
Broccoli/Rocket: Add veggies at step 02. Blend if you like!
Beetroot/Beet Greens/Coconut Milk: Add veggies at step 02. Definitely blend.
Leftover Soup: Throw leftovers in to your simmering broth for an instant meal, leftover meat, rice, quinoa, roasted veggies, steamed veggies. Usually best not to blend this one!! Keep nice and chunky :)
