Guy Turland's Ultimate Steak Sambo

Real food made well is what Chef Guy Turland is all about, and we couldn't be more excited about working with him on some pretty YUMMY recipes, including this very delcious Steak Sambo

Guy knows a thing or two about using GOOD quality ingredients (he built his Bondi Harvest cafe on the concept!) to whip up food that's honest, tasty and full of flavour with a sustainable, healthy vibe.

We asked for a Steak Sambo and what we got - boom, yes chef! Think juicy tender beef, harvest tomatoes and peppery greens all layered with loads of our GOOD FAT Aioli and GOOD SIDE Caramelised Onions.  Eat it for dinner, lunch or just because!

INGREDIENTS

  • 500g ribeye or filet

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper

  • 50g butter

  • 2 sprigs of Thyme

  • 1 clove Garlic

  • 1 tbsp GOOD FAT Aioli

  • 1 tbsp GOOD SIDE Caramelised Onion

  • 100g shaved Parmesan cheese

  • 100g pickles, sliced

  • 3 tomatoes, sliced

  • 1 cup arugula (rocket)

  • 2 Ciabatta rolls

METHOD

  • Rub your steak with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  • On a hot skillet or BBQ, cook your steak to your liking, turning every 2-3 minutes until a solid crust forms. Add butter, thyme, and garlic and baste your steak for 1 minute. Take out of the pan and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

  • Once rested, slice your steak and lay the slices on a plate, topping them with GOOD SIDE Caramelised Onion to marinate.

  • Lightly toast and top your Ciabatta with a generous amount of GOOD FAT Aioli, then add tomatoes, shaved Parmesan, your steak slices, and arugula salad.
